Meet your New Assistant: Apromore Copilot

In this How-To post, David Obembe introduces the new enhanced capabilities of Apromore Copilot

Apromore Copilot is our AI assistant designed to make process discovery and simulation faster, easier, and more accessible. Using process mining tools to generate insights about our process often requires technical expertise. With Copilot, that changes. Now, we can ask plain-language questions about their current processes or explore "what-if" scenarios, and get instant, easy-to-understand answers—right within the chat interface.

In this article, we’ll walk you through what Apromore Copilot can do and how it can help you understand your process and make decisions faster.

Key Capabilities of Apromore Copilot

Context Awareness

Apromore Copilot maintains the context of our conversation, allowing for seamless follow-up questions. For instance, after asking about the most frequent activity in a process, we can further inquire, "How can we make this activity more efficient?". Copilot will understand the activity being referred to and provide relevant insights based on the process map and its knowledge.

Visual Highlighting

When Copilot references specific activities in its responses, it automatically highlights these elements on the process map. This visual aid helps us quickly identify where the activity is performed in the process, facilitating faster decision-making.

Filter Awareness

Copilot automatically adjusts to any filters we apply to our event logs. This ensures that all responses are based on the current view of our process map. For example, if we're analyzing delayed cases and have applied a filter to retain only those cases, Copilot detects this filter and tailors its answers accordingly. This means we receive insights that are directly relevant to the subset of data we're examining.

What This Means for You

  • Reduced learning curve: Even as new users, we can extract insights about our process on day one.
  • Faster time to value: We can get answers to questions that would require multiple steps if done manually.
  • Improved decision-making: We do not only get tailor-suited answers to our process's current state, but we can also investigate probable causes and get practical solutions for improvements.
  • Fresh perspective: Our Copilot may identify patterns and opportunities that we might have overlooked, bringing new insights to our analysis.

Copilot in Action

Helping New Users Discover their Process

Alex, new to process mining, can ask “Explain what I'm looking at in this process map and what insights I can get about rework?” They will immediately receive a guided explanation of the process, highlight the rework loop, and give potential impacts of such reworks.

Supporting Process Analysts with Process Insights

Lisa, a process analyst, can ask Copilot “What are the bottlenecks in our procure-to-pay process” and immediately receive highlighted activities causing delays. Picture 2048075443, Picture

Assisting Leaders with What-If Analysis

Marcus, a COO, can ask “What would be the impact on performance if I added 2 FTEs to the "Procurement Manager" role?” Copilot will run a simulation in the background and clearly explain how this change would impact process performance.
